Impersonation: fake staff, fake support, fake Vortex link

From Vortex Wiki, the Vortex knowledge base

A familiar name in a message is the easiest thing to fake.

Definition

Impersonation is pretending to be a trusted person, such as an administrator or support agent, to get something from you.

Typical approach

A message claims your account is at risk and sends a "secure" vortex link or asks you to confirm details.

What real staff never ask

Your password, PIN, recovery phrase or a payment to unlock an account.

How to check

Do not use links from the message. Open the checked address from the gate yourself and look for the notice inside your account.
