Mirror: what a Vortex mirror is and why there are several

From Vortex Wiki, the Vortex knowledge base

A mirror is a second front door to the same building, not a second building.

Definition

A mirror is an additional onion address that leads to the same service. Logging in through a vortex mirror shows the same account, balance and messages as the main address.

Why services run mirrors

Onion services are often slowed down by floods of traffic. Spreading visitors over several addresses keeps at least one of them usable.

Genuine and copied mirrors

Anyone can build a page that looks like Vortex. Only an address published by the operators, ideally in a signed list, counts as a genuine vortex market mirror.

How this wiki lists them

The infobox on the main page holds one primary address and three mirror slots. A slot stays locked until its address has been matched with a checked source.
