Exit scam: when a platform closes and keeps the funds

From Vortex Wiki, the Vortex knowledge base

An exit scam is the platform itself walking away with what it holds.

Definition

An exit scam happens when operators shut down a service suddenly and keep the funds held in accounts and escrow.

Warning signs seen before

Withdrawals delayed "for maintenance", new rules pushing users to deposit more, and support going quiet.

Limiting the damage

Keep balances on any platform as low as you can. Funds you do not leave there cannot be taken.

What this wiki does

If a service shows these signs or goes offline, its slots are locked and a note is added instead of a new address.
